The gospels written before the destruction of the temple. There the genealogies were stored. So the Jews could check whether Matthew and Luke made correct claims on Jesus being the son of David both from his father’s side (Matthew) and from his mother’s side (Luke). The Messiah must have come before the destruction of the temple both from a prophetic point of view (Daniel) but also to be able to verify his descend.
